Artwork created by students from St. Regis Falls Central School District has been selected for display at two North Country art shows.
The Young Artists In Action (YAIA) Art Show is being held at the Downtown Artist Cellar in Malone, N.Y. on Wednesday, June 4 and Thursday, June 5. A closing reception will take place on June 5. This event is part of The Thrive Project, a special exhibit celebrating the creativity of primary and secondary students from local schools. The show features student artwork in a professional gallery setting, highlighting artistic expression and supporting children’s art experiences. Students may choose to donate their work to be sold for $20, with proceeds benefiting future youth art programs.
Four students were selected from each grade level, kindergarten through fifth grade. In total, 24 students from St. Regis Falls were chosen. Other participating schools include Malone, Brushton-Moira, Chateaugay, Salmon River, and St. Regis Mohawk.

The Robideau Lamite-King (RLK) Juried Art Show, organized by the Foothills Art Society, is a juried exhibition for students in grades 6-12 from regional schools. In a juried show, three professional artists review the submissions and select winners and runners-up. The exhibit is being held at the North Star Gallery in Malone, N.Y., from Friday, May 30, through Friday, June 13. A closing reception and awards ceremony will take place on June 13 from 5 to 7 p.m.
Fourteen pieces were selected from each school, and 11 students from St. Regis Falls were chosen to have their work displayed. One student’s artwork was also selected as the cover art for the entire show, featured on posters and invitations distributed to all participating schools. Other schools include Malone, Brushton-Moira, Chateaugay, and Salmon River.
