The proposed 2025-26 St. Regis Falls Central School District budget was passed with 88 votes to 58.


The approved $10,394,747 budget represents a $603,167, or 6.16% increase over the current budget. 


In addition to approving the budget proposal, voters also approved a capital reserve fund, school bus purchase proposition, pupil transport vehicle proposition, and elected Darwin Kelley, Jr., Nicholas Cicchinelli, and Connie Dashno to the board of education. 


Capital Reserve Fund Proposition

Voters approved the district's proposition to establish a new capital reserve fund with an anticipated term of 10 years and a total amount of $1,500,000. This fund will be created to defray the cost of the construction, reconstruction and equipping of school district buildings, facilities, and land, including original equipment, machinery, apparatus, appliances, furnishings, land acquisitions, and other incidental improvements and expenses. The Board of Education is hereby authorized to pay funds from the available fund balance, state aid reimbursement to the school district on account of capital projects, such other monies as the voters may direct, and/or other legally available funds of the School District to such reserve fund in an amount determined by the Board of Education up to the maximum authorized amount. The vote was 90 to 54.

Bus Purchase Proposition

Voters approved the proposition for the district to use $141,849 for the purchase of a passenger bus, as well as related equipment and apparatus, in line with the district’s goal to maintain a safe and efficient bus fleet. The vote was 93 to 53.

Pupil Transport Vehicle Proposition

Voters approved the proposition for the district to use $65,000 for the purchase of a pupil transport vehicle, inclusive of the necessary furnishing fixtures and equipment and all other associated costs. The vote was 84 to 61. 

Board of Education Vote

Three candidates were elected to the Board of Education:

  • Darwin Kelley, Jr.: 121 votes

  • Nicholas Cicchinelli: 116 votes

  • Connie Dashno: 44 votes
