Frankenstein stories (English 10)
By Hazel Ormsby
It was a warmish summer day in Albany. My name is Lily Rose. I was a louder girl growing up. Everybody knew who I was, but they never cared to know the real me. I didn't have real friends, just fake friends that I would follow around to not look as lonely. After I graduated I moved to Albany to be myself.
The Woods of the Unknown
By Elijah White
It was a cold December day in northern New York. There were these two snowshoers walking in the woods. They see this un-human type figure running through the woods, and they try to chase it. They follow his tracks deeper into the woods trying to figure out what they just saw. They stop and see footprints. Bennet says, ”Those are very big shoes, like size 25, nothing I have ever seen before.¨
By Tiara Batchelder
I, Florence Smith, was a 21-year-old college student in the University of Bologna (a college in Italy that was founded in 1088). I was a third year student in political science and psychology.
By Shelby Young
I was left alone
I was left on a table
I was left to die
I went searching for people that would help me
Nobody helped me
How We Flow
By Issak Hadlock, grade 11
We flow like wind in the trees,
Soft like at sea.
We go together like beats in a song,
Moving in time,
Right with the beat.
A Disappointing Experience at BOCES
By Ben Van Riper, Composition 101
Getting off the bus at the school for my BOCES class. Passing the giant building with hundreds of different rooms, completely outclassing my home school. My first step is walking up to the large white door that leads to the class. To enter the class, you gotta knock as the door is always locked from the outside. A kid stumbles over and finally lets me inside, I walk in and the whole room opens up. A giant shop and classroom with machines and wires, and desks all over. The entrance to the class definitely gets me excited for what could be in store for the day.
Walking Home
By Sara Deragon, Composition 101
I walk to my mother’s house every Monday without fail. Stepping outside, I check the clock on my phone. It tells me that it is 4:10 PM. I got distracted for an extra ten minutes. My favorite summer pastime, Dungeons and Dragons, ends at 4:00 PM on Mondays. However, it ends at 6:00 PM on Wednesdays. The schedule is wonky because of the difference in times, but I will always make it work.
Team Troubles (a fictional story)
By Cooper Austin, Composition 101
The school day is starting to come to an end, which I'm pretty excited for because it is a nice day in the mid 60s. The leaves are changing, and it's a little breezy.
Saturday Endeavors
By Shayne Benware, Composition 101
I have been working at the Nicandri Nature Center every Saturday for about 6 months now, starting April 26th. My main duty while working is animal care, but it's not the only thing I do. I feed, clean tanks, scoop dirt out of water (thank you, Leonard), and take the animals out for interactions with the people. I mainly deal with sassy turtles, dramatic cockroaches, and a snake.

Frankenstein inspires 10th-grade art
The 10th-grade English class just finished reading Mary Shelley's 1818 novel Frankenstein. Their unit project was to create either an artwork or story inspired by the book. Here are a couple of the artworks:
Archie Guobaitis painted this image of Victor Frankenstein (right) watching his creature come to life.
Abigail Rivers used cut-up paper to make this image inspired by artist Andy Warhol and the 1931 Frankenstein movie starring Boris Karloff as the creature.
