Extracurricular Advisors

Extracurricular activities are an integral part of a well-rounded education, providing students with opportunities to explore interests beyond the traditional classroom setting while developing essential life skills. These programs, ranging from athletics and performing arts to academic clubs and community service organizations, foster teamwork, leadership, time management, and personal responsibility. Participation in extracurricular activities has been shown to improve academic performance, increase school engagement, and help students build lasting friendships and mentorships.

Saint Regis Falls Central School District is committed to offering diverse, inclusive programs that allow every student to discover their passions, develop their talents, and contribute meaningfully to their school and community.

The information below will be helpful for you, as an advisor.

Calendar- when holding a meeting or event please put it on the SRFCSD Internal Calendar

Meeting minutes- template was provided, this is a necessity as you need to have evidence that events, fundraisers, purchases, etc. were approved by you class/club. There should be a motion made to approve, deny or table items, someone must second it and then it goes to a whole class/club vote. Secretaries are vital during this process of keeping track of the information.

Constitution- please look in your folder for the previous years or if you can not find it, use the template provided to adopt and/or readopt the use of the class constitution for the '25/'26 school year.

Point System- out of four points for activities, sales, etc. Students should hopefully be earning at least 75% of the overall 100%. For example, if you are selling concessions at an event, Donation- 1 point, Set up- 1 point, Working the event- 1 point, Take down- 1 point. If for some reason you feel like students are not able to do this for legitimate various circumstances and it is case specific, you may as the advisor use your best judgement.

Petty cash request- Steven Peck will need two days notice at least to submit the petty cash request, this is mainly used if you need cash for concessions, events, etc. When you turn in the money the petty cash used will be taken out of the overall profit of the event/fundraiser.

Sales/Events: Each class is awarded a certain number of week long sales and day events.

Extracurricular Activity Booklet: It is always important to share the great work happening here. Last night I shared the 24-25 version of this with the Board. So that we start the year with this information (and potentially a student from your group can help with your organizations page) I share the 25-26 Extracurricular Activities book with you now.

Officer Sheet: This officer sheet helps to organize representatives. While primarily for Class advisors, I encourage you to add your group to the list.
