2021 - 2022 St. Regis Falls Remote Plan

As cases in our region continue to climb, the St. Regis Falls Central School district finds it prudent to communicate our plans for a potential, pandemic related, forced shift to remote only learning and for students who are temporarily remote as a result of a quarantine or other prolonged medical circumstances. We know that communication is crucial to ensuring minimal disruption of student learning and instruction. Please carefully read and review the elementary and secondary full remote learning plans below as well as the guidance for temporary remote learning due to a CoVID-19 exposure or prolonged medical circumstances below:

Elementary

Temporarily Remote for Elementary Students

**If a student is temporarily remote due to a CoVID-19 exposure or for another prolonged medical circumstance, students will follow the plans outlined below for each grade level:

  • Pre-K - 1st students out due to a CoVID-19 exposure or for another prolonged medical circumstance will receive learning materials via GoBags.

  • 2nd - 6th Grade students out due to a CoVID-19 exposure or for another prolonged medical circumstance will receive core instruction by joining “live” synchronous Google Meet sessions with teachers by following their schedule.

Elementary Full Remote Plan

Pre-K - 1st: If or when the district is forced to move to a full remote only learning plan, students in grades K - 1st will utilize a hybrid of synchronous, “live”,Google Meets with teachers and GoBag instructional materials.

2nd - 6th Grade: If or when the district is forced to move to a full remote only learning plan, students in grades 2- 6 will follow a condensed schedule of synchronous, “live”,Google Meets with teachers in the morning and will submit work via Google Classroom for core area classes. Staff will also provide afternoon support sessions.

Please note that ALL BOCES students, and students who attend out of district placements, will continue to attend their programs in-person unless otherwise communicated.

Secondary

Temporarily Remote for Secondary Students

If a student is temporarily remote due to a CoVID-19 exposure or for another prolonged medical circumstance, students will need to use the chart below to determine if a course being taught is synchronous or asynchronous.

**Additionally, BOCES students should check their BOCES email and Google Classrooms for work.**

7-12 Temp Remote

Secondary Full Remote Plan

If or when the district is forced to move to a full remote only learning plan, students in grades 7-12 will be expected to follow their period by period schedule to attend synchronous, “live”,Google Meets with teachers and will submit work via Google Classroom. Please note that ALL BOCES students, and students who attend out of district placements, will continue to attend their programs in-person unless otherwise communicated.

  • If students have study halls, they should attend a Google Meet for attendance purposes. If they are in good academic standing and do not need any assistance, they may leave the Google Meet after attendance; however, if they are not in good academic standing or need help they must attend the study hall Google Meet.

  • If a student does not have internet service, other means for instruction will be necessary. In some cases, the district may be able to provide a Kajeet device for internet connection; however, Kajeets do not work in all areas of our district. If a Kajeet does not work in your area, school work and instructional materials will need to be dropped off and picked up. Please call the main office at (518) 856-9421 to set this up or for assistance.
